Monster Party on a Budget!

I love an over-the-top party and I have thrown many. However, I wanted to show that you can take store bought decor and turn it into a fun and custom party for under $20!! Target has recently put out a new line of party decor. I'm going to feature several of their lines but I wanted to start with the "Monster Party". Here is a cost breakdown ....Tablecloth 2.59, Plates $1.69, Napkins $1.39, Banner $3.99, Gift Bags $1.99, Puppets $2. I used crepe paper and ribbon that I had lying around but total cost around $5. I spent $1.50 on printables.

I started with the banner. I took strips of ball fringe and glued one to the top of each pennant.

I then took strips of ribbon and tied it in between each pennant.

I also used tulle to create a fluff and give it a fuller look.

Continue adding ribbon until the area between each pennant is covered.

I added the printable "Thank You" Tags to the top of the store bought bags to give them a custom look.

I always like to add something extra to your ordinary printable cupcake topper.

Glue tulle onto a 2" circle. Continue around until you have completed a circle with the tulle.

I decided to cut slits into the tulle to give them a slightly wild look since it is a Monster Party! Once complete add a printable cupcake topper that has been punched out, a lolli pop stick to the back and finish with some curled ribbon tied onto the stick.

I used what was meant to be water bottle wrappers to make napkin rings. Simple cut out the strips and wrap around the napkins. Glue or tape the back to hold them in place.

These printable Sucker wrappers are super easy. Simple punch out the two yellow dots, fold on the score line and slide the sucker stick through the holes.

Here is the finished table:

Lady Bug Party

I wanted to share my new Lady Bug line I am creating for Etsy and give a few tips for anyone who may be planning a Lady Bug Party.

I used simple black lanterns and adhered red spots to make them match the theme. I used a 2"punch to punch out circles from glittered red paper. Hanging decorations from the ceiling is a great way to get a big impact. Total cost of the 3 lanterns was $7.
I created the ladybug cupcake toppers and wrappers from my cricut and they are part of the line. The Flower style toppers were created by making the paper rosette and adhering a 1 1/2" glittered circle, and finishing it with a glittered foam ladybug.

This banner is also available in my shop ($12) or DIY...I used my cricut to cut out 5" black scallops and 4" red scallops. I then added gemmed chipboard letters to spell out "Party". I then punched holes in each side of the scallop to run my ribbon through. Finish by adding a felt Lady bug at each end.
If you are having a Lady Bug party anytime soon, you need to pick up some of these masks! They are available at Target in the $1 section!
One thing I can't take credit for are these super cute Lady Bug cake pops. Anne from C3 Bakery created these for my table.

I love to incorporate the theme into even little parts of the party. I used glittered red tulle to tie bows on the blow horns. I added a cute glittered lady bug to finish it off.
One last detail...I have purchased a bunch of these grass squares for my sons upcoming woodland/camping party. If you are throwing a party that incorporated the outdoors into the theme these squares of grass are great for decorating. They are available at Hobby Lobby in the Easter section for $4.99 but are 1/2 price this week!:)

Fondant Cake Toppers

With my sons Camping themed party approaching I recently visited a cake shop to see about having a cute cake made for him. I was a little surprised by what they told me it would cost. Not including cake the small fondant animals I wanted were going to cost $25 each. So I decided to take a different approach. I am still purchasing a cake just an undecorated one. I am having someone from etsy make my fondant accents. I wanted to share some of what is available there in case you too are looking to have a cute cake without a whopper of a price tag. These farm animals above are available at TheLilDetails for $32.00 and would look so cute on a farm themed cake.
This is actually a cake topper and is only $15.95. CookieCovers makes this and these super cute pirates below. These are made for cupcakes and for $16.95 you get 12.
You can even find party packs like these fun lady bugs. KidsCakes makes lots of different themes and you get the cake topper, the cupcake toppers and even the wrappers for around $45.00
When I started looking on etsy there were almost 3000 listings for fondant toppers. There is something for every persons budget. Hopefully, this shows you a less expensive way to get a big impact at your next party!!

Barbie Silhouette Party

If you have a little girl you probably know what a big trend the barbie silhouette party is right now. This party was created by adoptionmakesfamilies for her daughter with the help of printables by Kristie from Party Paper Creations.

As you know I am a big fan of party printables. It's one of the most economic ways to transform an ordinary party. It really is a great way to customize the party and make it look like you spent way more time and money then you actually did!

{Above} If you are going to set your water out regular paper is fine to use for your labels. You can also print on label paper to make these easier to apply. However if you plan to have your drinks/water on ice you will need to get water proof labels. You can find these online or in most large office supply stores. You can print on these like regular paper. Plus, they work great! { Below} A cute candy bar is taken to the next step by adding zebra paper or ribbon and adding a barbie tag.
.
Love...Love...Love the cupcake stand and toppers!!
Simple zebra bags with custom bag tags are a great way to send off each guest.
Here is a cute invitation available on etsy that is completely customizable.

Kristie's store on etsy offers this party pack for $14.95 (includes customizing). Which shows you how economical it can be. I get everything I do printed at UPS which is 4/$1. The cool thing about these packs is that you can print as many as you want.
