Camping Party Shirts
I forgot to share the shirts I had made for my sons camping party. I made the whole family (and yes I even made my husband) wear them!:) They said "Camp Counselor" and then on the tent had my sons name. It maybe took me 20 minutes to design online but was a fun detail the day of the party.

Campout Party Pt 2
Pt. 2 of the Camping Party
I had several games planned for the party. We created a scavenger hunt with items like snakes, birds nest ( that I made), bugs, spiders, etc....all things boys love! We hid them all over the yard and then gave each child a list and a burlap bag to "hunt" with.
A few pics of the kids searching for the items on the list.
We also broke into three groups and did activities like sack races, a money dig in sand and fishing. We attached washers to plastic fish and put a magnet on the end of the fishing line and the kids had to catch one of each color fish before they got their prize.
Before the kids went home they got to take their camp bag and fill it with goodies.
I had bug nets and bug suckers, water guns, bug activity books, bug catchers and viewers, bubble guns and balls.
I also had bug and frog puzzles, legos, and water bottles. I used old ammunition boxes, baskets, and rolled burlap bags to hold the goodies.
I used this twig bag to hold more of the take home favors.
Here was the invitation I used. A tent to set the theme!

Campout Birthday Party
Let me first warn that there is a mass amount of pics with this blog!:) I had over 200 to choose from so it was difficult to narrow down! This is my sons 7th Camping bday Party. I put up a "Camp" style sign that said "Welcome to Camp Tyson"
I need to also say that we had great weather during the party but did have 30 mph winds. Which for the perfectionist in me was a little difficult at first. Some of my "party ideas" just didn't happen and some had to be altered. However, in the end I think it turned out to be a fun party. Below is a pic of our food/ sweets table. It was an afternoon party so we did snack foods and lots of sweets!
Before we got started with any activities I had each "camper pick up a bag that had "Camp Tyson" on the front along with activity patches.
Kristie from Party paper creations created a party pack with bag toppers, water bottle labels, cupcake toppers etc. I used a 2" punch to cut out these tags and backed them with glitter paper and used simple raffia to tie them to the bags. I then wrote each child's name on the back so we could keep track of every ones loot!
I used an antique table and benches I had as the kids table. Moss covered mushrooms, grass table runner, metal grasshoppers, concrete squirrel and rocks served as the simple decor. In the background you can see the burlap I used to drape the tent. this is one of those modified ideas! I had ordered 75 yds to massively drape the tent but due to the wind we did good to drape this much!:)
I used an old cart with a grass runner, rocks, and a funky owl to serve as the "present stand". I covered a chair with an old burlap sack for the birthday boy to sit on while opening presents.
For the food table I had a two tiered camping birthday cakes, woodland cake pops, fudge cupcakes with woodland cupcake toppers and lots more!
Some more of the food table...The large frogs are Marshmallow treats and I created "Frogs on a Log" by using Ho Ho's and gummy frogs. There was also woodland sugar cookies and polka dotted shortbread cookies.
Here's a peak at the top of the cake.
I made "Mud Pies" by filling mini pies with cool whip, topping them with chocolate pudding and adding a few gummy worms.
I mixed a variety of woodland style cake pops to add to the outdoor theme.
Marshmallow frogs.
I also used a mix of woodland paper cupcake toppers to fudge cupcakes.
I used large ant planters to hold the plastic ware and napkins. This turned out to be great in the wind!
Part of Party Paper Creations party pack were these cute s'more bag toppers.
More Pics Coming !!

Camping Party
If you have boys, and there anything like mine, they love the outdoors!! I love the idea of a camping themed party! I actually love it so much that it's the theme for my 6 year old's birthday this April. The Blackberry Vine has such a cute camping party that I wanted to share some of the photos and ideas from the party.
I love the sash/badges that the kids get for completing each activity. It's a great way to really get the kids involved and instead of prizes make a badge that fits the activity they are doing. These were actually made from a cricut but similar stickers can also be found at local craft & scrapbook stores.
I am an invitation nut. I LOVE cute invitations and have said before how I think it's one thing you shouldn't over look. It's what I call "the first impression" of the party. These invitations are so clever and cute. Now, maybe not practical if you have to mail invitations. However, if you are handing them out they are a great way to get the kids excited for the upcoming party.
