Easter Chick Cupcakes

I found this cute Easter cupcake idea on Disney Family Fun and wanted to share it. It's super easy and would be a great project to do with your kids!!

This easy-to-make Easter chick perched on a grassy coconut knoll will sweeten anyone's holiday.

Ingredients 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut

Green food coloring

1 cupcake Green frosting

2 plain doughnut holes

Toothpicks

Yellow frosting

1 orange gumdrop

Black decorators' gel X

Instructions Place the coconut in a resealable plastic bag with a few drops of green food coloring. Shake the bag to color the coconut. Then transfer it to a bowl. With a paring knife, remove a quarter-size portion of the center of the cupcake top. Frost the cupcake green, including the indentation. Dip the frosted cupcake into the coconut and add a dollop of yellow frosting to the indentation. Trim a small slice off the doughnut holes so each has one flat surface. Skewer a doughnut hole on a toothpick, frost it with yellow frosting, and place it in the cupcake indentation flat side up. Use the same technique to frost the second doughnut hole. Stack it on the first hole flat side down. Cut a small beak from the gumdrop and push it onto the chick's head. Finally, add 2 black gel eyes and watch your guests chirp with pleasure!

Easter Treat Bags

I LOVE the DIY project but sometimes you have to break down and just buy things that you know you can make. These bag toppers I ran accross I thought were so cute!! I think these are just as cute as anything you can buy and print online. Plus they are cheaper and you don't have to print them. They are avaible at hobby lobby 20 for $2.99. Plus I bought mine when they were 40% off!

I found 3 different styles available, all have 3d features from the egg, glitter, and furry ball tail.
I plan to use mine to fill with prizes. As home room mom I always try to have atleast 3 games for my boys class parties and I try to do a prize for each game. I thought these would be perfect to hold a fe trinkets and candy.

Want to customize them? Use them for your kids treats and add a cute custom label saying who they are from. Make your own or look on etsy. For around $2.50 you can purchase a sheet of customized easter labels.
