Easter Tablescape: I wanted to share my Easter Tablescape designed from Party Paper Creations printables.

I wanted to hopefully offer some fun springtime inspiration and show different ways to use the printables.

I filled hand painted metal baskets with "Cotton Tails" (cotton candy). I then added an Easter printable that I punched out with a 1 1/2" scalloped punch. I hot glued that to a paper flower and then adhered it to the from of each bucket.

I created these fun and festive straws with the "tag printables". I'll give step by step instructions on my next post. These are super easy and definitely a fun detail!

I not only used the tent cards to label the sweets but also as bag toppers for "Easter Eggs".

Pirate Party

Pirate Party! RRRr!

For Maddox's 3rd birthday he wanted to have a pirate party. We chose to have it outdoors to take advantage of letting the kids spread out and do all the activities we had planned. Above, we did a simple table scape. I used skull and cross bone table runners, treasure chests and gold pieces for the center. I created my own party hats by adding foam pirates, rick rack and ball fringe to simple blue party hats. (total cost under $10)

We actually had two blow-ups because of the number of kids we had coming. Of course one had to be a pirate ship! Other activities we did was a treasure hunt. I created pirate maps by drawing a simple course to follow. I aged the maps with an antiquing stamp pad and burnt the edges of the paper to make them look authentic. Because this was a party geared for young children I marked each spot with a colored flag and did the same on the map. Also, we had an "octopus" . I took a very large drink pail and covered it with black cardboard, cut a hole in the center to stick hands in and filled it with cooked spaghetti. Also, I mixed prizes in plastic bags with the spaghetti. The kids had to stick their hands in and pull out a prize.
We sent each child home with their own gift bag filled with fun pirate booty. Eye patches, gold coin chocolates, pirate bandannas and hooks were some of the favors inside.

In May I will be throwing another Pirate party for a little boy and the following pictures are some of the beginning decorations I have been ordering...

These two photos are props I have ordered for a pirate party in May. The above is $60 and the entire decor in the lower picture was $100. Shindigz is running a special if you spend more than $75 you get an extra %15 off. As I always state, remember these come unassembled and can take several hours of assembly time.

My spring/Easter Table

I used some of my favorite collections on my formal dining room table. The center stands are from the Round Top Collection and the Easter Angels are from Bethany Lowe.

For my place settings I used chargers and place mats from Hobby Lobby, Plates from Target, napkins and Napkin rings are from Pier 1, and silver ware from Dillard's.

My antler Chandelier is normally a great fit for this room but needed some spring touches to lighten it up for springtime.

I've started working on my kids spring time table. Any time I decorate a table for my kids I use things that are easy to clean, sturdy and fun. I started by creating the floral centerpiece. Start to finish. this cost under $15 to make and maybe took 15 min.

1. All items were purchase from Michaels. I started with 4 Large felt flowers, 4 large flowers with stems, green Easter grass, floral foam and the picket fence base.

2. Pull the flowers from their stems and glue them to the center of each felt flower. Then Take the stem and glue each one to the back of the felt flowers.

3. Fill the inside of the picket fence container with the floral foam. Stick each flower into the foam.

4. Cover with green grass to hide floral foam.

To finish my table. I used a plastic floral tablecloth. Multi-colored flower chargers, bright colored place mats, plastic Easter plates and finished with spring napkins and napkin rings.

To the center I added a few colorful lanterns, springtime garland, a flower table runner, and place card holders folder bright colored flowers.
